Streptococci are a group of bacteria whose refs afflict us as pathogens of various diseases and settle mainly on the mucous membranes. An infection with streptococci is usually not the first disease, because the bacteria can only spread in the body when there is no sufficient immune defense. The knowledge about the ref the pathogens results from the hemolysis, i.e. the dissolution of hemoglobin (blood pigment of the red blood cells). In order to assess the ref of hemolysis, the physician takes a throat swab with the CLEARTEST Strep A test strip, the examination of which is carried out in a microbiological laboratory. The examination result then shows the possible infection from the hemolysis.
